Job Description
Job Purpose Oversee all field operations and total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in a safe manner and in accordance with design, budget, quality, and schedule. Coordinates plans and specifications with Designer to clarify discrepancies. Has thorough understanding of contract terms; able to identify contracting risks and steps to mitigate. Has thorough understanding of Building Codes and permitting process. Able to manage the budget and identify more cost-effective ways of doing work. Qualifications and Technical Skills
- 5-10+ years construction experience with previous supervisory experience
- Understanding of all aspects of building construction
- Understanding of current IBC and local codes and permitting process
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Understanding of Construction CPM scheduling
- Proficient in Blue Beam or ability to learn
- OSHA 30 Certification (can acquire within 6 months of hire)
- First Aid/CPR certification (can acquire within 6 months of hire)
- Washington State CESCL Certification (can acquire within 6 months of hire) Professional Qualities and Traits

- Ensure the project team is empowered and expected to take action
- Promote proper planning, adequate equipment, personal responsibility and support from management to ensure a safe workplace
- Participate and lead safety inspections and record observations in Raken
- Participate in incident reviews
- Be committed to and participate in pre-task planning by ensuring there is adequate time for review and engagement by crews
- Ensure compliance with all Westsound Safety policies
- Maintain a clean and organized jobsite
- Assist with and lead regularly scheduled, job-wide safety meetings/huddles to establish jobsite safety culture
- Conduct and ensure project orientations are being completed
- Respond immediately to correct potential hazards
- Proactively provide input to ensure that the project schedule, design, systems and budget allow for execution without putting workers at risk
- Assist in creation of Project Site Safety Plan
- Determine fall protection safety systems that will be used on the project. Quality
- Participate in development of quality management programs with the executive team
- Ensure quality management programs (QMP) is fully implemented and monitor
- Ensure specified materials are utilized on the project and stored accordingly to prevent damage
- Record quality lessons learned
- Oversee completion of work to minimize punch list items
- Oversee resolution of punch list items to ensure timely identification, communication, and resolution Preconstruction, Planning, Schedule
- Assist with creation and maintaining project logistics plan, include review for construction processes that need additional engineering including cranes, loading adjacent to excavations, etc.
- Assist with creation of project construction approach and sequencing
- Assist with update of project schedule on a weekly basis
- Alert project team of potential delays in a proactive manner such that action can be taken to avoid the delay
- Understand the project budget and coding structure
- Review project specifications and drawings to gain understanding of scope and requirements
- Ensure work is being installed off approved set of documents
- Assist with submittal review, point out areas that require special attention
- Understand project specific RFI process
- Communicate current job status and short-term goals
- Provide project communications and directives as needed
- Enter and review daily reports. Document progress and important conversations through photos, emails, and daily reports Physical Demands
- Ability to stand and walk for an 8-12 hour day
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. including overhead
- Requires vision and hearing abilities
- Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding
- Must be able to drive a vehicle or equipment
