Job Description

Job Summary:
The Work-Based Learning Coordinator is the person responsible for implementing, managing, and evaluating structured learning experiences by scholars that occur in the workplace setting. It is the expectation that this individual will work closely with school leadership, colleagues, parents, and scholars to promote scholar accountability and school spirit. The Lincoln Academy is a school where scholars and families are supported while maintaining high expectations for all. The Work-Based Learning Coordinator is expected to fully embrace the school's methodology and uphold the high expectations of The Lincoln Academy. The Work-Based Learning Coordinator will support an equitable environment with rigorous instruction, joyous interactions, and strong community partnerships. Though it is impossible to list all roles the Work-Based Learning Coordinator will fill, specific job responsibilities include:
Essential Functions:
Build and maintain partnerships with local employers, businesses, and industry leaders Design, implement, and manage job shadowing, internships, and youth apprenticeships Coordinate employer agreements, training plans, and site visits Match scholars with appropriate placements based on career interests and skills Monitor scholar progress through regular check-ins and site visits Ensure compliance with all child labor laws and safety standards Help teach soft skills and work-related skills to scholars, such as: interviewing, resume writing, and employer outreach Maintain accurate records of scholar placements, hours, evaluations, and contracts - collecting appropriate data for state and federal reporting Serve as liaison between employers, the school, and scholars Transport scholars to career exploration activities and job sites Supervise field trips related to career exploration Assist with grant writing Other duties as requested

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
The majority of this job involves walking, sitting or standing necessary to observe school activities, mostly indoors. The ability to physically perform the duties and work in the school setting is required.
Some conditions include:
