As an Design Integration Manager, you will lead and coordinate all preconstruction management activities. It is essential to be goal oriented, organized, and professional and doing so exceed client expectations. Critical for success in this position will be to oversee and integrate multidisciplinary design efforts, facilitate permitting strategies and assess risk management. You will lead estimating teams through the development of preliminary estimates and GMP proposals by engaging partners, aligning scope, detailing assumptions, while integrating cost, schedule, phasing, and procurement considerations. Lead and coordinate all preconstruction management activities—budgeting, scheduling, change management, communication, meetings, and document control—while ensuring team alignment and use of collaboration tools. Design Management:
Oversee and integrate multidisciplinary design efforts, ensuring deliverables meet project requirements, are constructible, well-coordinated, properly documented, and supported by accurate field data. Permitting Management:
Facilitate permitting strategies and processes across federal, state, and local levels, including environmental investigations, agency coordination, property access agreements, compliance review, and stakeholder engagement. Risk Management:
Identify, assess, and manage project risks by developing mitigation strategies, maintaining risk documentation, and supporting cost, schedule, and contingency decisions. Cost and Estimating Management:
Lead estimating teams through the development of preliminary estimates and GMP proposals by engaging partners, aligning scope, detailing assumptions, while integrating cost, schedule, phasing, and procurement considerations. Safety, Environmental, and Quality Management:
Ensure safety and environmental compliance while implementing a robust quality program with structured reviews to validate and improve design deliverables. Constructability, Value Engineering, Construction Planning and Coordination:
Develop construction strategies and evaluate design alternatives to optimize cost, schedule, safety, and quality, while facilitating constructability reviews and resolving design issues. Business Development and Pursuit Coordination and Support:
Support project pursuits by shaping teams, scopes, budgets, schedules, and technical strategies to align with client requirements and proposal commitments. Construction and Close-out Coordination and Support:
Provide continuity from preconstruction into construction by supporting change management, permitting, documentation, and final closeout activities including commissioning and turnover. You have a drive to get results What it takes: Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field 8+ years' experience in design build, integrated project delivery or complex construction projects Strong understanding of construction execution, sequencing, means and methods, and close-out PE & DBIA
Certification (Desired) Experience with alternative delivery methods such as Design-Build, Progressive Design-Build, or CM/GC Travel requirements will vary but could exceed 50% depending on assignment and project requirements Demonstrated experience coordinating multiple design disciplines and external consultants Understanding and experience with win strategies, pricing and project scheduling Experience in technical writing Understanding of Scheduling, Estimating and Project Controls Software A valid driver license for the type(s) of vehicles you may be driving and an acceptable driving record #LI-SW1 AA/EOE/M/W/Vet/Disability https://www.michels.us/website-user-privacy-policy/
