Location:
Onsite (5 days/week)•Local candidates within ~50 miles preferred
Travel:
~25% (regional travel with occasional overnight stays)
Schedule:
Full-time (40 hours/week) with potential overtime Overview Hive+Co has a contract opening with our client in Charleston, West Virginia for a Project Manager with experience in utility and large-scale construction projects to support a long-term infrastructure initiative. This role will lead and coordinate projects from initiation through completion, ensuring delivery is safe, efficient, and aligned with budget and schedule expectations. Key Responsibilities Plan, execute, monitor, and close construction and utility projects Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource plans Lead cross-functional teams and coordinate with contractors, vendors, and stakeholders Provide regular project updates, reports, and presentations Ensure compliance with safety standards and promote a zero-incident culture Support procurement activities including RFPs, vendor selection, and contract management Monitor project risks and implement mitigation strategies Drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency across project teams Assist with or lead project closeout, including performance evaluation and reporting
Qualifications Required:
Experience in utility or major construction project management (non-IT/telecom) Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience OR Associate's degree with 5+ years Knowledge of project controls, cost estimating, scheduling, and construction practices Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office Valid driver's license
Preferred:
PMP certification Experience with Primavera P6 and PMBOK methodologies Additional Details Opportunity to grow into leading more complex projects High-visibility role with cross-functional collaboration Travel required approximately one week per month
