Construction Estimator/ Superintendent

JOB DESCRIPTION

Savage Const. Co. Is a locally owned business with 80 years' experience in the construction business based in Wheeling, WV. Savage Construction is seeking a full time Construction Superintendent / Estimator to oversee and manage construction projects. The position will be responsible for estimating, management, budgeting, scheduling, and oversight of all aspects of construction projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare estimates by performing takeoffs from computer software.
• Ensuring that scopes and qualifications meet project needs
• Obtain quotes from various vendors and other subcontractors
• Oversee daily operations of construction projects
• Coordinate and schedule field employees and subcontractors
• Create and maintain project schedules
• Identify and mitigate potential issues with construction projects
• Attend all preconstruction and job meetings
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to owner satisfaction
• Have the ability to meet potential customers in a professional manner

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Excellent time management skills
• Ability to multitask and oversee multiple projects simultaneously
• Advanced knowledge in construction practices
• Proficient in interpreting blueprints and specifications
• Ability to run large and small projects
• Proficient in estimating all types of jobs
• Ability to use computer estimating software and overall computer skills
• General construction knowledge is a must with emphasis on sitework, site utilities and concrete preferred

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must meet the minimum qualifications as detailed below:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
• Minimum 3-5 years' hands-on experience in construction industry
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook preferred
• Strong organizational and leadership skills
• Excellent communication skills

Pay:

$60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
