JOB DESCRIPTION

Savage Const. Co. Is a locally owned business with 80 years' experience in the construction business based in Wheeling, WV. Savage Construction is seeking a full time Construction Superintendent / Estimator to oversee and manage construction projects. The position will be responsible for estimating, management, budgeting, scheduling, and oversight of all aspects of construction projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare estimates by performing takeoffs from computer software. Ensuring that scopes and qualifications meet project needs Obtain quotes from various vendors and other subcontractors Oversee daily operations of construction projects Coordinate and schedule field employees and subcontractors Create and maintain project schedules Identify and mitigate potential issues with construction projects Attend all preconstruction and job meetings Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to owner satisfaction Have the ability to meet potential customers in a professional manner

REQUIRED SKILLS

Excellent time management skills Ability to multitask and oversee multiple projects simultaneously Advanced knowledge in construction practices Proficient in interpreting blueprints and specifications Ability to run large and small projects Proficient in estimating all types of jobs Ability to use computer estimating software and overall computer skills General construction knowledge is a must with emphasis on sitework, site utilities and concrete preferred

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must meet the minimum qualifications as detailed below: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred Minimum 3-5 years' hands-on experience in construction industry Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook preferred Strong organizational and leadership skills Excellent communication skills
