This position is responsible for ensuring equipment meets project specifications, applicable codes and standards, internal quality requirements, and customer expectations. The role partners closely with engineering, quality, production, suppliers, and field teams to support safe, reliable, and high-quality project execution. The position will be onsite at a suppliers facility in Vancouver, Canada participating in FATS Requirements Review customer specifications, single-line diagrams, control schematics, wiring diagrams, and bills of material for medium-voltage switchgear projects. Inspect medium-voltage switchgear assemblies to verify conformance with engineering drawings, workmanship standards, internal quality requirements, and customer specifications. Verify component selection, panel layout, wiring, grounding, labeling, clearances, interlocks, and overall equipment configuration. Perform or witness inspection and test activities, including continuity checks, insulation resistance testing, mechanical inspections, and functional verification. Ensure compliance with applicable standards, codes, and procedures, including IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, NEC, UL, and internal company requirements. Document non-conformances, prepare inspection reports, communicate findings, and support corrective and preventive actions through closure. Collaborate with engineering, production, project management, sourcing, suppliers, field service, and quality teams to resolve technical and quality issues. Support factory acceptance testing, site inspections, commissioning activities, and troubleshooting as required. Maintain accurate inspection records, test results, punch lists, and final release documentation. Promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with electrical safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and company safety expectations. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline required; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered. Minimum of 3 years of experience in medium-voltage switchgear engineering, inspection, testing, manufacturing, commissioning, or a related power systems environment. Strong knowledge of medium-voltage power distribution equipment, protection and control systems, and switchgear construction. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams, schematic drawings, wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and technical specifications. Experience with inspection procedures, quality documentation, root-cause analysis, and corrective action processes. Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and safety requirements. Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard engineering or quality documentation tools. Preferred Knowledge and Skills Experience with metal-clad or metal-enclosed switchgear, protective relays, control power systems, and arc-flash mitigation methods. Hands-on experience supporting factory acceptance testing, commissioning, or field service activities. Knowledge of testing practices, torque verification, point-to-point checks, grounding requirements, and inspection best practices. Relevant certifications such as NICET, NETA, OSHA, or similar technical and safety credentials preferred. Experience working in manufacturing, EPC, utility, renewable energy, energy storage, or industrial power environments. Work Environment and Travel This position may require work in office, manufacturing, warehouse, and field environments in support of company operations and customer projects. The role may involve standing for extended periods, inspecting equipment at close range, climbing ladders or platforms, lifting tools or materials within established safety limits, and wearing personal protective equipment as required. Travel to customer sites, supplier facilities, factories, or project locations may be required based on project needs.
