Job Description

Description We are seeking an experienced Construction Inspector (CI) to provide quality assurance and compliance oversight for construction projects. The CI will support the Site Design Representative (SDR) by monitoring construction activities, ensuring adherence to contract documents, codes, and safety standards, and documenting project progress. This role requires strong field experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently across multiple disciplines. Responsibilities Oversee construction work in progress and assist the SDR with contract compliance and work acceptance. Provide quality assurance and oversight of construction activities. Interpret and apply construction plans, specifications, and contract documents. Perform field observations across multiple disciplines and prepare detailed inspection reports documenting progress, quality, safety, and compliance with codes and construction documents. Submit inspection reports within 24 hours of inspection, including scope of inspection and any discrepancies. Maintain construction issue and deficiency logs. Prepare daily and weekly site observation reports, including photographic documentation. Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all construction documentation, including inspection reports, logs, and code compliance checklists. Complete and review Requests for Inspection (RFIs) submitted by subcontractors. Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) observations in specialized areas (e.g., scaffolding, trenching, lightning protection). Conduct required code inspections to ensure compliance with applicable standards (e.g., IBC, NFPA) and contract requirements. Verify that RFIs, submittals, and redline updates are incorporated by subcontractors. Monitor construction activities for OSHA safety compliance; document and report violations to the appropriate Safety Specialist. Perform final inspections and develop punch lists for construction projects. Ensure compliance with established facilities processes and participate in reviews of standards and specifications. Verify completion of required asbestos assessments (FAIT Asbestos Work Release) prior to work initiation, where applicable. Coordinate and observe field testing activities. Review construction schedules, monitor progress, and report delays or deviations that may impact project completion. Manage required construction work permits. Qualifications Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction inspection or a related field. Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a security clearance. International Code Council (ICC) certification in relevant discipline (e.g., Commercial Building, Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing). OSHA 10-hour certification (or higher). Strong knowledge and application of
OSHA 29 CFR 1926
Construction Standards. Knowledge of and experience with building code compliance (e.g., California Building Code or equivalent). Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including hours outside standard business operations.

Effective communicator with the ability to coordinate across teams and stakeholders. Salary Range USD $115,000.00 - USD $135,000.00 /Yr.
