(CPCI) is looking for an experienced Pole Treatment Foreman . CPCI was recently awarded the Southern California Edison Intrusive Pole Inspection (IPI) Program. We are building a crew from the ground up to support GO 165 compliance work across SCE's 50,000-square-mile service territory. All positions are covered under the IBEW Local 47 Pole Treatment & Restoration Agreement; selected candidates will be walked into the Union as part of onboarding. Full-time, Union (IBEW Local 47) About the Role You will lead an intrusive pole inspection crew evaluating and internally treating standing wood utility poles across SCE's service territory. Crews consist of up to five workers including the Foreman, with up to two Senior Technicians and three additional Treatment Technicians per Senior Tech. Work is performed under SCE Material Specification MS-454 and General Order 95 guidelines.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Supervise daily crew operations: groundline excavation, sound and bore inspections, partial digs, through-bored inspections, RPIN inspections on previously restored poles, and full intrusive inspections. Evaluate wood poles to GO 95 guidelines; apply remedial preservatives in accordance with MS-454 and your State of California Pesticide License. Assign appropriate Inspection Action Codes (IA, IC, 1F, 2A, 3A-3G, 4A, 5A, 6A, 7A) and Recommended Action Codes (RAC 1 through RAC 10) per MS-454 criteria. Identify and immediately report Priority 1 conditions (unstable poles, leaning structures, P1 equipment conditions) to the SCE Representative; secure the location until SCE arrives. Run weekly documented tailgate safety meetings; complete a minimum of two formal training sessions during the work period. Perform supervisory QC inspections on 2% of crew output; submit QC documentation with each invoicing period. Deliver weekly inspection data files, photo packages (POLENUMBER.pdf format, 3-5 megapixel images), and redline maps for ADDs, 3C MISSING IACs, and any cGIS discrepancies. Track No-Access (3A IAC) rates and maintain below 2% YTD; coordinate door hangers and re-attempts at varied times of day. Qualifications Minimum 2 years' experience in inspection and treatment of wood utility poles. Valid State of California Pesticide Applicator License (required for supervision per CBA Article V and SOW Section 11.0). Working knowledge of
MS-454, GO 95, GO
165, and SCE's IPI Program job aids and reporting protocols. Experience with electronic data collection (tablet-based inspection forms, Excel deliverable templates, c

mapping). Valid Class C driver's license; clean MVR. Class A CDL a plus. Ability to pass pre-employment background check, drug screen, and DOT physical. Strong communication skills for daily coordination with the SCE Representative and IPI Program Manager. Willingness to join IBEW Local 47 within 31 days of hire as a condition of employment. The employee could be exposed to weather conditions such as heat, cold, and rain, and will work near heavy machinery and moving vehicles The noise level on site is often loud, and the environment may involve dust and fumes. Appropriate PPE (hard hat, safety vest, hearing protection, etc.) is required at all times. Work may occasionally be at heights or in confined spaces The employee is required to follow all safety policies and procedures and to actively participate in safety trainings and meetings. Compensation & Benefits Base Wage:
$34.22/hr;
NEAP Annuity Contribution:
$3.00/hr.
Health & Welfare:
LINECO Health and Welfare Plan ($7.50/hr employer contribution).
HRA:
$1.50/hr employer contribution into LINECO Health Reimbursement Account.
Retirement:
NEBF (3% of gross monthly payroll) + NEAP individual annuity at $3.00/hr.
PTO:
8.83 hrs/month accrual (>6 months); up to 17.46 hrs/month at 10+ years.
Paid Holidays:
7 (New Year's, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, day after Thanksgiving, Christmas). Jury Duty & Bereavement Leave per CBA.
Schedule :
Standard schedule is 5×8 (Mon-Fri) or 4×10 (Mon-Thu) by mutual agreement. Overtime at 1.5× over 40 hrs/week.
