Crew Chief/Field Inspector for Restoration Company Confidential Posting - 4.1 Newtown, CT Job Details Full-time $20 - $28 an hour Benefits Paid time off Qualifications Customer communication Hazardous Waste Operations & Emergency Response Training Water damage restoration Restoration Driver's License Driving Building restoration Bloodborne Pathogens Certification Full Job Description Position Summary The Crew Chief / Site Inspector is responsible for initial job-site inspection, setting up subcontractor crews, and ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards and industry guidelines. This role also includes inspecting job sites, documenting conditions, and serving as a key point of contact for customers and internal teams. Key ResponsibilitiesProject Oversight Lead and supervise field crews on mitigation and restoration projects (water, fire, mold, etc.) Ensure jobs are completed according to scope, timeline, and company standards Ensure all paperwork for Insurance Companies in order for payment to be realeased is obtained Site Inspection & Documentation Perform initial and ongoing site inspections Assess damage and determine appropriate mitigation methods Communicate Daily with Project Mangers Document job conditions with photos, notes, and moisture readings Prepare accurate reports for Project Managers and office staff(MICA, Mitigate) Customer Communication Communicate clearly and professionally with customers onsite Address customer concerns and escalate issues when necessary to upper Management Compliance & Safety Enforce PPE usage and safety protocols at all times Ensure compliance with OSHA and industry standards (IICRC guidelines) Report all incidents, damages, or safety concerns immediately Equipment & Inventory Ensure proper use and care of equipment (air movers, dehumidifiers, etc.) Track and document equipment placement and removal Maintain cleanliness and organization of vehicles and job sites Qualifications 2+ years experience in restoration/mitigation (water, fire, mold) Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred IICRC certifications (WRT, ASD, etc.) preferred or willingness to obtain Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in various environmental conditions Skills & Competencies Strong leadership and decision-making skills Excellent communication and customer service abilities Attention to detail and strong documentation skills Ability to work in fast-paced, emergency-response environments Basic technology skills (mobile apps, job documentation software) Work Schedule Full-time, including evenings, weekends, and on-call rotation as needed Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly pay or salary Overtime opportunities On-call compensation Paid time off Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods Work in confined spaces, heights, and varying temperatures Wear PPE as required
