Position Summary The Inspection Specialist is responsible for ensuring the safety and compliance of all fall protection systems and equipment through routine inspections, testing, documentation, and reporting. This role involves conducting thorough inspections of harnesses, lanyards, anchor points, lifelines, and related safety systems in accordance with OSHA, ANSI, and company standards. The specialist identifies and reports defects or hazards, recommends corrective actions, and maintains detailed inspection records. The Inspection Specialist is required to perform these tasks while working at heights while utilizing the correct form of fall protection themselves. They may be required to climb ladders, operate lifts, and perform tasks near the edge of a roof. They also provide guidance and training on proper use, maintenance, and storage of fall protection equipment. Key Responsibilities Access site conditions to determine the process required to complete the recertification. Compare actual site conditions to engineered drawings for discrepancies and communicate any issues back to the Project Manager Direct communication with clients, contractors, and other site personnel Quality control and standardization for all phases of recertification Proactively monitor, track, and take necessary action to complete recertification at or below estimated cost and report daily progress to the project manager. Work in a team effort with Project Managers and Engineering Client training on system use upon completion of recertification (when applicable) Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent/Trade School Graduate 0-2 years civil construction inspection or construction inspection experience Field construction means and methods Ability to read engineered drawings Ability to travel 100% of the time Microsoft Office Suite Preferred Qualifications Fall protection inspection experience Heavy equipment experience (diesel boom lift, boom forklift, etc.) Fall protection system installations Basic understanding of ANSI and OSHA standards Travel savvy Pre-Employment Requirements Valid Driver's License & Evidence of Ability to Insure Documents required for Domestic Air Travel Criminal Justice Background Check (state and federal) Drug Test (5-panel) E-Verify eligibility verification Physical Requirements Must be able to regularly lift and maneuver up to 75 lbs without assistance and perform strenuous physical labor for 8+ hours per day, including climbing, overhead work, kneeling, squatting, crawling, pulling, and heavy lifting, often at elevation or while suspended from structures. Requires frequent and extended climbing of ladders, towers, scaffolding, and buildings, and working suspended in fall protection harnesses, sometimes in awkward or confined positions, and often on sloped, uneven, or unstable surfaces with minimal guardrails. Must tolerate extreme environmental conditions, including heat, cold, wind, rain, direct sunlight, airborne particles, dust, fumes, vibration, and mechanical hazards. Requires full range of motion, physical agility, and strong fine/gross motor coordination to navigate tight spaces, transition across structural elements, and operate hand and power tools safely at height. Must adhere to strict safety protocols and be able to wear and function in required PPE for extended periods, including but not limited to harnesses, helmets, respirators, gloves, durable long pants and steel-toed boots. Must be able to safely attach and operate fall protection systems rated for a total all-in weight capacity of 310lbs Must have the ability to travel up to 95%, including to all 50 states and international destinations (valid passport required if eligible), and possess visual and auditory acuity to detect hazards and ensure safety compliance. Work Schedule This is a full-time position. The work schedule for this position varies depending on client location and operational requirements. This position may require hours beyond standard working hours to satisfy job duties and department demand. Company Benefits
