Job Summary Salary:
Construction Inspector I-C:
$26.22- $33.435
Construction Inspector II-C:
$27.70- $35.315
Construction Inspector III-C:

Performs responsible technical field inspection and office work enforcing national, state, and local codes governing the design, construction, and renovation of buildings, structures, wastewater treatment facilities, and other public works projects. Work involves inspection of buildings and structures, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical installations, and requires considerable knowledge of electrical, carpentry, plumbing, building construction, or mechanical field as well as in depth knowledge of all applicable codes and ordinances. Employees assigned to this classification must exercise considerable initiative and independent judgment in the interpretation and application of codes in making technical decisions. Work is performed under general supervision, according to established guidelines. Performance is reviewed through reports submitted, meetings, and results obtained for technical sufficiency and consistent application.
Minimum Qualifications:
Construction Inspector I-C:
ELECTRICAL
Associate's Degree with construction-related coursework in area of assignment or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in electrical work or a combination of post-secondary education, training, and experience totaling five (5) years. Must be certified by the Florida Electrical Contractors Licensing Board (ECLB) as a Standard Inspector - Electrical or must obtain State of Florida Provisional Certification within 120 days of hire, and the permanent License must be obtained within two (2) years of receiving the Provisional License.
Construction Inspector II-C:
ELECTRICAL
Associate's Degree with construction-related coursework in area of assignment or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Minimum of seven (7) years' experience in electrical work or an equivalent combination of post-secondary education, training, and experience totaling seven (7) years. Must be certified by the Florida Electrical Contractors Licensing Board (ECLB) as a Standard Inspector - Electrical.
Construction Inspector III-C:
ELECTRICAL
Associate's Degree with construction-related coursework in area of assignment or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Minimum of nine (9) years' experience in electrical work or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience totaling nine (9) years. Must be certified by the Florida Building Code Administrators & Inspector (BCAI) as a Standard Inspector - Electrical. All positions require a valid Florida Driver's License and must pass a background check which includes a polygraph. This is a full-time
CONTRACT
position with the same benefits as Regular full-time. Most contracts are renewable for terms of one year.
