Overview:

M&J Engineering is a leader in construction management and inspection, ITS, mechanical, electrical, wastewater, water supply, tunnel airport, port, marine/coastal, environmental engineering, and design-build services for both new infrastructure projects and renovations. M&J Engineering is seeking an Inspector with
FDOT, CEI
experience in Southwest Florida (Sarasota/Charlotte/Lee/Collier County, Florida (In-Office). This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and loves turning insights into action. We are seeking a highly experienced professional responsible for ensuring that construction projects align with FDOT plans, specifications, and codes. They conduct inspections, and maintain records. Specifically, they monitor on-site construction activities, inspect materials, and ensure conformance with the project's requirements. They also play a crucial role in monitoring and inspecting Work Zone Traffic Control Plans, including alternate plans.
Responsibilities:
Inspecting Construction Work:
Ensuring adherence to plans, specifications, and codes.
Maintaining Records:
Keeping detailed records of daily operations and significant events.
Monitoring Work Zone Traffic Control:
Ensuring compliance with FDOT's Work Zone Traffic Control Plan.
Inspecting Materials:
Verifying that materials entering the work site meet project requirements.
Performing Inspections:
Conducting field inspections and maintaining records.
Performing technical assignments:
field surveying and construction layout, marking, and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests
Project Administration Manual:
Familiarity with and adherence to the Construction Project Administration Manual (CPAM).
Qualifications:
High School Diploma/Equivalent plus 2 Years or more relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education of Roadway or Bridge construction. Valid U.S. Driver's License. Preferred Qualifications Nuclear Radiation Safety FDEP Stormwater Inspector Certification CTQP Final Estimates Level I CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level I CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I CTQP Pile Driving Inspection IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level I CTQP Final Estimates Level I CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection Salary Range $22.00/hour - $31.00/hour, depending on experience.
