Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Building Permit Technician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will facilitate the permitting process for construction projects, ensuring compliance with local building codes and regulations. Your expertise will help streamline permit approvals, support construction management teams, and uphold quality standards across all phases of construction projects. Duties Review construction plans and documentation to verify adherence to building codes and zoning regulations Assist applicants in submitting permit applications accurately and efficiently Conduct thorough inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance with approved permits and quality standards Collect and analyze data related to permits, inspections, and project progress for reporting purposes Coordinate with construction management teams, contractors, and inspectors to facilitate smooth permit issuance processes Maintain detailed records of all permit applications, inspections, and related correspondence Perform quality control checks during construction inspections to identify potential issues early and recommend corrective actions Experience Prior experience working on construction sites or within construction management environments is highly desirable Strong understanding of construction processes, safety standards, and building codes Proven skills in quality inspection and quality control within construction projects Excellent analysis skills for reviewing technical documents, permits, and inspection reports Familiarity with contracts, data collection methods, and construction inspection procedures Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders including contractors, inspectors, and regulatory agencies Demonstrated attention to detail and organizational skills necessary for managing multiple permits and inspections simultaneously Join us in ensuring that every building project meets safety standards while supporting the growth of vibrant communities.
