Job Description

at City Of Danville in Danville, Illinois, United States Job Description Make timely, efficient, and organized field inspections of properties in assigned areas to assess compliance with the City's Property Maintenance Code and certain Zone Ordinance sections. Work with residential and commercial property owners and tenants to achieve compliance with the City's Property Maintenance Code and certain Zoning Ordinance sections. Open cases and issue citations for violations of the City's Property Maintenance Code and certain Zoning Ordinance sections. Prepare and provide evidence and testimony in City Court in cases involving violations to obtain compliance with the City's Property Maintenance Code and/or certain Zoning Code sections. Maintain a physical presence in assigned area and build relationships with residents and businesses regarding compliance with the City's Property Maintenance Code and certain Zoning Ordinance sections. Collaborate with Corporation Counsel, Assistant Corporation Counsel and Legal Assistants to assure accurate record keeping. Collaborate with Community Development Building, Electrical and Plumbing Inspectors and Demolition Manager regarding violations of the City's Building, Electrical and Plumbing Codes found during field inspections. Work with neighborhood associations within assigned areas to educate residents, and to receive complaints regarding potential violations of the City's Property Maintenance Code and certain sections of the City's Zoning Ordinance. Consistently strive to improve Environmental Code Enforcement Division procedures, productivity and efficiency through observation, recommendation, and approved action.
