We're looking for a Construction Inspector to join our Transportation Group in Lenexa, Kansas. The ideal candidate will have experience inspecting roadway and bridge projects, performing field materials testing, and a desire to grow into a project leadership role. We also welcome individuals who are eager to learn and grow in the inspection field. What You'll Do As a Construction Inspector, you'll: Read and interpret construction plans and specifications. Perform field materials testing on soil, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt. Observe and inspect construction activities for compliance with contract documents. Develop the ability to lead inspection projects. Maintain timely and accurate project documentation. Prepare pay applications, change orders, and perform general administrative duties. Conduct environmental inspections. Perform other duties as assigned. What You Bring 5+ years of inspection-related experience. KDOT or MoDOT Certified Inspector Training Certifications preferred (training available if needed). Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Broad knowledge of construction materials and methods preferred. Experience with earthwork, asphalt pavement, concrete pavement, bridge structures, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and other utilities. Self-motivated with a positive attitude. Strong organizational and computer documentation skills. Ability to stand for long periods and lift/carry field equipment and samples (50 lb lift test required). Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
