Inspector Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Roofing / Building Infrastructure Inspector to join our team and support our Building & Infrastructure consulting services. This role involves field-based inspection and evaluation of facilities, with a focus on roof systems and their impact on overall building and infrastructure performance. Responsibilities Perform on-site evaluations of flat and low-slope roof systems. Identify deficiencies such as ponding, membrane deterioration, drainage issues, structural concerns, and safety hazards. Conduct inspections as part of broader facility condition assessments, asset management programs, and infrastructure evaluations. Provide accurate field documentation, photographs, and written observations to support repair, rehabilitation, and maintenance recommendations. Essential Skills Inspection Quality control Quality assurance Infrastructure evaluation Field documentation Additional Skills & Qualifications 8-15+ years of experience in roofing, building, or infrastructure inspection. Strong background inspecting commercial or public facilities. Understanding of how roof systems interface with drainage, structural components, and building envelope performance. Experience with infrastructure or asset-based inspection programs. HUD, FEMA, or municipal inspection experience. Comfortable working in active, safety-sensitive field environments. Strong documentation and reporting skills. Work Environment The role involves working in the field across the Metro-Detroit area, including Oakland, Wayne, Genesee, Lapeer, and Washtenaw Counties. The company provides a vehicle for work purposes. Projects include commercial, retail, industrial, and medical facilities. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Troy, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $38.00/hr.
