Job Description

Join the City of Burnsville as a Neighborhood Services Specialist! In this role, you'll help maintain safe, attractive neighborhoods by enforcing city codes and ensuring properties comply with building, zoning, rental licensing, and maintenance regulations. You'll be part of the Community Development Division, a collaborative team supporting planning, inspections, and economic development across the city. This position focuses on rental licensing, property maintenance enforcement, and delivering responsive, high-quality service to the community. This is a non-exempt (hourly) position with a starting annual wage of $91,166.40, depending on qualifications (DOQ).
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED and at least two years of experience in code enforcement, building inspection, or a related field. ICC certification (Property Maintenance or Residential Building Inspector) required within one year. Local government experience preferred.
