Per Diem of $178 per day worked. Company vehicle or rental vehicle provided while on project assignment. The Planet Group is currently seeking a Resident Engineer for a growing company in the infrastructure and water resources construction industry. Qualified candidates must have experience with construction quality assurance, concrete demolition and placement activities, field documentation, and construction oversight. Experience with mass concrete projects, heavy civil construction, dams, levees, or other infrastructure projects is highly preferred. Apply now for immediate consideration. Job Description We are seeking a Resident Engineer to support a long-term infrastructure rehabilitation project. This position will be responsible for overseeing field construction activities, performing quality assurance inspections, coordinating with contractors and project stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards. The ideal candidate is an ambitious engineer or geologist with experience in heavy civil construction and concrete quality assurance who is looking to grow their career while working on a large-scale infrastructure project.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Observe and document demolition, excavation, dewatering, and concrete placement activities.
  • Perform construction quality assurance inspections and verify compliance with project specifications.
  • Monitor contractor activities and identify field issues related to construction methods, design intent, safety, and quality.
  • Support the resolution of field conditions and construction-related challenges.
  • Prepare detailed daily and weekly construction reports.
  • Coordinate with contractors, inspectors, designers, and project stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
  • Assist with constructability reviews and provide field feedback to engineering and project teams.
  • Monitor project progress and communicate schedule, quality, and safety concerns.
  • Implement project Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Health & Safety plans.
  • Review construction documentation and maintain accurate project records.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide updates regarding field activities and project status.
  • Support cost, schedule, procurement, compliance, and change management efforts.
  • Assist with project reporting, documentation, and closeout activities.
  • Serve as the on-site project representative throughout construction activities. Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of construction experience.
  • Experience with Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) for concrete projects is required.
  • Experience observing concrete demolition, placement, finishing, and quality control activities.
  • Strong understanding of construction quality management practices.
  • Experience preparing daily reports, weekly reports, and field documentation.
  • Familiarity with heavy civil, infrastructure, water resources, dams, levees, pipelines, pump stations, or similar projects is preferred.
  • ACI Certification strongly preferred.
  • OSHA 10-Hour certification required (or ability to obtain prior to project start).
  • Strong communication, documentation, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a field environment.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and construction management software.
  • Familiarity with scheduling tools such as MS Project or Primavera P6 is preferred.
  • Ability to evaluate project decisions based on cost, schedule, quality, and safety considerations.
  • Physically capable of performing construction site inspections.
  • Valid U.
S. driver's license required.
