Whether you're new to the field or bring years of expertise, you'll receive hands-on training, mentorship, and opportunities to advance. Job Responsibilities:

Concrete:
Begin with concrete testing and sampling, then move on to other materials like soils, asphalt, steel and masonry. Train as
You Go:
Receive on-the-job training and certification support through the American Concrete Institute (ACI) and the International Code Council (ICC).
Work Outdoors Year-Round:
Enjoy working outside in various weather conditions, with changing environments and different crews on different sites.
Testing and Reporting:
Conduct and document tests on construction materials with precision. Ensure all laboratory and field equipment is well-maintained and properly calibrated. Collaborate with colleagues and work independently to ensure test results are logical, complete, and ready for review.
Inspections and Compliance:
Perform inspections of construction materials according to the International Building Code (IBC) and serve as a Special Inspection agent per certifications and IBC requirements. Review project plans, record observations and test results, and use Metafield® to organize data. Experience shifting work hours based on project demands and weather, including early mornings, some Saturdays, and overtime (paid at time and a half). Occasional travel to support other offices is covered with per diem and lodging.
Technician Level Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in a related field preferred for advanced levels
Associate Technician/Technician I:
0-2 years relevant experience
Technician II:
2+ years of relevant experience or equivalent with an associate degree
Technician III:
3+ years of relevant experience or equivalent with an associate degree
Technician IV:
5+ years of relevant experience; prior leadership or mentoring experience is a plus Strong English communication skills (verbal and written) Basic math proficiency, including an understanding of measurements and units of weight The understanding of a fluctuating schedule with an interest in traveling Industry Certifications such as ACI, ICC, and NICET are a plus. Pay begins at $20/hr with no direct experience. Competitive pay for industry experience and certifications (ACI, ICC, etc.)
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
You are willing and able to perform the physical demands of this position with the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment, such as: Working the majority of the time outdoors in varying weather conditions Walking over rough, uneven terrain and standing for long periods Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs (field/laboratory samples and equipment) Working outside of normal business hours Traveling to project sites with the use of a company vehicle
