Your expertise will help prevent service disruptions and ensure construction projects proceed smoothly by accurately identifying underground utility lines. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work outdoors, collaborate with construction teams, and contribute to community safety through precise utility location services. Duties Locate and mark underground telecommunication utilities using specialized equipment and techniques to prevent damage during excavation or construction activities Interpret blueprints, maps, and technical drawings to identify the location of underground utilities accurately Operate field equipment such as backhoes, forklifts, and cabling tools to assist in excavation or utility marking tasks Conduct land surveying activities to verify utility positions and ensure alignment with project plans Collaborate closely with construction crews, engineers, and project managers to communicate utility locations clearly and effectively Maintain detailed records of utility locations, markings, and field observations for documentation and future reference Perform routine safety inspections on equipment and work sites to uphold safety standards at all times Requirements Proven experience as a service technician or field service worker in utility locating or related construction fields Strong background in land surveying, blueprint reading, and interpreting technical drawings Hands-on experience with utility locating tools, cabling techniques, and underground detection methods Ability to operate heavy machinery such as backhoes and forklifts safely and efficiently Knowledge of construction site safety protocols and OSHA regulations Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and contractors Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions Preferred qualifications include experience with service technician roles, land surveying certifications, backhoe operation licenses, forklift certification, and familiarity with cabling installation processes.
