CLOSING DATE

APRIL 28, 2026 Incumbent is responsible for enforcing New Mexico Building Code, International Building Codes. Americans with Disabilities Act, City Land Development Standards, and other related building codes and zoning ordinance. Checks construction plans to ensure compliance by property owners., developers and contractor. Issues building permits. Inspects construction work to ensure compliance of structures.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Five (5) years foreman level experience in building/construction trades or construction management.
• Possession of State CID general inspector certification
• OR•must pass New Mexico CID General Inspector Exam with a 75% or better within 90days of hire • Possession of national ICC certification(s) as a construction inspector in both the International Building Code and International Residential Code•OR•must pass national ICC certification exams within one year of hire 75% or better • Valid Driver's License.

Must meet City's insurability requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduate from an accredited college or vocational school with an emphasis in building, planning, or closely related field
• Experience in construction supervisory level building trade or management

OTHER CONDITIONS

• Upon offer of employment, candidate will have 90 days in which to pass the required State Construction Industries Division (CID) General Construction Inspector Exam and obtain State CID certification as a General Construction Inspector.

APRIL 3, 2026 Under the direct supervision of the Animal Protection Supervisor incumbent responds to calls and performs a variety of duties related to the capture impoundment and disposal of domestic and wild animals. Investigates complaints of animal bites and ensures that animals suspected to be carriers of rabies or other diseases are properly quarantined. Impounds injured and strayed animals that are causing community disturbances or complaints. Informs animal owners of responsibility to control and vaccinate in accordance to prevailing statutes laws and ordinances. Cites animal owners for violations and non-compliance files complaints through the court system and makes court appearances as necessary. Maintains records and collects fees. Ensures assigned vehicle is cleaned and serviced at proper intervals. Periodically serves as desk officer at the animal shelter and may be called upon to conduct tours of the premises. Performs other related duties as assigned.
