As a Construction Observer , you will play a critical role in overseeing the construction phase of projects, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards. Join our team and help us deliver transformative projects that positively impact communities across New Mexico and the Southwest. Your Role & Responsibilities In this role, you will: Provide daily observation of construction activities to verify compliance with project plans and specifications. Prepare and maintain accurate daily field reports. Track material quantities and unit prices. Interpret plans and specifications and maintain a red-line set of construction drawings. Assist contractors with RFIs and review material submittals. Conduct field testing of construction materials. Retrieve and document construction material samples. Perform other tasks associated with construction observation and inspection as assigned. Travel required across Southern New Mexico. What We Are Looking For Education- You have a high school diploma or equivalent. Industry Experience
- You have at least 3+ years of experience in roadway or utility infrastructure construction either with an engineering firm or as an employee of a general construction contractor. Project and Construction Knowledge
- You have past experience in construction management or observation. Technical and Communication Skills
- You have written and oral communication skills, computer skills (Word and Excel). You have the ability to track unit price quantities, read plans, and understand standard specifications. Personal Strengths
- You are determined, organized, detail oriented, and customer focused. Bonus Skills
- Construction materials laboratory testing experience is a plus.
