Senior Building Plans Examiner East Hampton Town, NY East Hampton, NY $85,253.38 a year - Full-time $85,253.38 a year - Full-time Town of East Hampton - Senior Building Plans Examiner with the
Building Department Duties Include:
Examines blueprints and plans for applications that are complex, makes recommendations for corrections to applicants and returns them for resubmission Performs site inspections as needed; support staff on inspections when requested Plans, assigns and reviews the work of Building Plans Examiners Communicates in person, by telephone or written communication with the public and agents for applicants on Town Code requirements, application submissions or NYS Building Code requirements Ensures all East Hampton Town Zoning and NYS Building codes are followed during inspections, reviewing and approving plans Interpretates of East Hampton Town Zoning Codes Attends public meetings with and in the absence of the Chief Building Inspector and Principal Building Inspector Ensures staff obtain and maintain necessary training as it relates to the Building Plans Examiners Certified by NYS as a Code Official Does related work as required This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, and the hourly rate of pay is $40.9872, with benefits, including paid vacation, enrollment in the New York State and Local Retirement system and health care and dental and vision coverage.
Minimum Qualifications are as follows:
a) Graduation from a college with federally-authorized accreditation or registration by NY State with an Associate's Degree in Architectural Drafting, Construction Technology, Engineering Technology or a related field; and two (2) years of supervisory experience in relation to architectural drafting or building construction; or, b) Graduation from a standard senior high school, or vocational school in a job related field, or possession of a high school equivalency diploma, and four (4) years of experience in architectural drafting or building construction, involving the use and reading of plans and blueprints; two (2) years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity; or, c) An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of a) and b). Special Requirements Depending upon the nature of the assignment, at the time of appointment, and during employment in this title, employees must possess a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State. All employees hired after January 1, 1985 must successfully complete the required basic training program entitled Minimum Standards for Code Enforcement Personnel, established by the State of New York Fire fighting and Code Enforcement Personnel Standards and Education Commission. The program must be completed in the appropriate time period as specified in the regulations, and upon completion, the required in-service training programs must be attended as scheduled.
