Work Hours:

Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM Position Overview Inspector is responsible for providing inspection services for multiple Wastewater Treatment Facilities, including all associated pump stations and Combined Sewage Overflow (CSO) facilities in their drainage areas. This role is classified as a safety sensitive position under New York law due to responsibilities involving jobsite safety oversight and inspections in active construction environments. Candidates selected for this position will be required to complete a pre employment drug screening, including testing for marijuana.

Responsibilities:

Inspection services for various NYCDEP Wastewater Treatment Plants that may include: Plumbing (Mechanical), General Construction (Structural), Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), and Electrical (including Instrumentation) trades. Perform daily on-site inspections of construction activities to ensure adherence to the project schedule, plans, specifications, and safety standards. Prepare and maintain daily construction inspection reports documenting work performed, contractor labor and equipment, quantity of material received and verified, observed issues, and contractor activities. Identify unsafe conditions, code violations, and site hazards; ensure corrective actions are implemented. Additional duties as assigned by management. Work onsite at active construction sites and comply with all safety protocols. This position is designated as safety sensitive and requires successful completion of a pre employment drug screening, including marijuana testing.

Required Skills and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in engineering (Civil preferred) from an accredited college. Minimum of 5 years of construction inspection experience on NYCDEP Wastewater Treatment Plants. Strong attention to detail and ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and maintain accurate records and documentation. OSHA Construction, 30-hour.

Technical Skills:

Microsoft Office Adobe Acrobat MS Visio (preferred)

Soft Skills:

Detailed oriented and reliable, while demonstrating a high-level of interpersonal, diplomacy, and organizational skills. Clear verbal and written communication skills. Ability to collaborate with multiple team members.
