Construction Inspector Location:
Akron, Ohio Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Construction Inspector to join our growing team in Akron, Ohio. This role is responsible for ensuring that construction projects are completed in accordance with plans, specifications, and applicable regulations while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. Key Responsibilities Perform daily on-site inspections of construction activities to ensure compliance with project plans and specifications Monitor contractor work for quality assurance and adherence to schedule Document construction progress through reports, photographs, and field notes Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and project managers to address field issues Review materials and workmanship to verify compliance with standards Maintain accurate project records, including daily logs and inspection reports Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements Assist with measurements, quantity tracking, and project documentation Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred 2+ years of construction inspection experience (transportation, municipal, or site development preferred) Familiarity with construction plans, specifications, and standard procedures Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings Effective communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic reporting tools Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites Preferred Certifications NICET Certification (or ability to obtain) ODOT or other relevant state inspection certifications OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Why Join Us Competitive compensation and benefits package Opportunities for professional growth and certification support Collaborative team environment Variety of projects across infrastructure and site development Get job alerts Share Copied to clipboard Related roles Survey Technician
