Requirements Job Summary The Commercial Combination Building Inspector performs inspections of new commercial, industrial, and multi-family factory built structures. This role ensures compliance with approved plans, specifications, and international model codes.
Core Responsibilities Conduct Inspections:
Review structural, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
Enforce Codes:
Identify code violations and issue correction notices.
Review Plans:
Examine blueprints and specifications prior to on-site visits.
Maintain Records:
Document inspection results and log compliance data.
Collaborate:
Work closely with contractors, engineers, architects, and property owners.
Key Requirements Education:
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years in commercial construction inspection or trades.
Certifications:
ICC (International Code Council) Commercial Combination Inspector certification.
License:
Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record.
Skills:
Deep knowledge of IBC, IMC, IPC, and NEC codes.
