Job Description

Building Inspector - City of Chickasha The City of Chickasha is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Building Inspector to help ensure safe, quality construction throughout our community.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct residential and commercial building inspections. Enforce building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, zoning, floodplain, and property maintenance codes. Review construction projects for code compliance. Investigate complaints and work with property owners, contractors, and the public to resolve issues. Maintain inspection records and prepare reports.
Qualifications:
Starting pay dependent on certifications held upon hire. All residential and commercial certifications are required to be obtained for this position. Pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes and Ordinances. National Electrical Code, NFPA 70 and/or all adopted State and City codes. Principles and procedures of record keeping. Modern construction methods and practices. Read and interpret various maps and blueprints. Accepted safety standards. Plan review techniques. Code compliance relating to building inspections and related issues. Computer software programs including Microsoft Office, Word and others. $22.38 - $30.00 per hour
