Job Description

Residential Energy Inspector Put your trades skills to work for your community — inspect, test, and improve homes for families who need it most! About the Role Do you have a background in construction, home repair, or general trades? This role lets you use those skills every day, visiting homes, running diagnostic tests, and writing up repair specs. You'll work with real families to make their homes safer, warmer, and more energy efficient. No weatherization experience required. What You'll Do Inspect homes and write detailed repair and energy upgrade specifications. Run diagnostic tests using hands-on equipment. Coordinate bids and work with subcontractors from an approved vendor list. Collaborate with code enforcement officers and local officials to ensure compliance with building codes and zoning regulations. Track job progress in agency software and maintain accurate, organized client records. Maintain accurate material inventories for energy programs. Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency energy assistance via LIHEAP Crisis Program. What We're Looking For High school diploma or GED or 3+ years of hands-on experience in construction, home repair, or a related trade. Strong working knowledge of residential construction and building systems. Good communication skills
  • you'll interact with clients, officials, and contractors daily.
Ability to maintain client confidentiality. Valid PA driver's license, reliable vehicle, and insurance meeting agency standards; willingness to travel throughout the region. Ability to successfully complete all mandatory training programs sponsored by state, federal, or PUC entities.
Must pass:
FBI fingerprint check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, and PA State Police Criminal History check. Clear criminal record
