Construction Management Full Job Description Job Overview:
Full-Time, In person position Candidate's primary role will be to assist Project Managers and Superintendents in the day-to-day administration of Federal Government construction projects. The majority of employer's projects are located in the Greater Puget Sound Region. Successful candidates must demonstrate the following experience and skills: Familiarity with major aspects of horizontal and vertical construction. Familiarity with mechanical and electrical systems and components. Working knowledge of project scheduling, phasing, and sequencing. Ability to read and interpret contract documents including plans and specifications. Ability to read and interpret technical submittals including product information, shop drawings, and test data. Ability to determine if information included in technical submittals complies with the requirements of the contract documents. Ability to accurately record and publish minutes from meetings and conversations. Ability to maintain logs used to track a variety of administrative items. Ability to use technology and web-based programs to manage construction/technical documents and information flow. Strong organizational and documentation skills. Strong communication skills, including professional interface with owners, engineers/architects, subcontractors, suppliers, co-workers, and other members of the project team. Ability to elicit timely responses from team members. Ability to meet challenges and deadlines while maintaining quality of work. Ability to develop and maintain relationships with co-workers and other members of the project team. Demonstrated proficiency using computer software (e.g., Word, Excel, Office, Outlook, Adobe, Bluebeam, P6) and company communication tools, such as e-mail and the internet. Ability to use web based construction and file/information management systems. Ability to effectively communicate and convey technical information both verbally and in writing. The Candidate will also assist in estimating Federal Government construction projects and must demonstrate an aptitude for the following: Subcontractor and supplier bid solicitation. Quantity takeoff.
Education/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or related field OR a combination of 4 years of construction with at least 2 years of construction-related administration experience Experience with Federal Government contracting (desired, not required) Job Requirements Valid state driver's license U.S. Citizen who is able to pass Federal Government security screening in order to obtain access to military installations Ability to obtain OSHA-30 safety certification Ability to obtain CPR & First Aid certification Ability to obtain U.S. Army Corps of Engineer Construction Quality Management certification Ability to move safely around active construction sites (climb ladders, walk on uneven terrain and carry at least 20 lbs) Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment Salary dependent upon experience.
