Job Description Individual will perform environmental building inspection services according to regulatory and industry standards. Daily duties include driving to and from various job sites, visual investigation, sample collection, communication, and reporting. Responsibilities Environmental Building Inspectors are responsible for upholding regulatory compliance on client projects. The ideal candidate can offer expert advice, assess building conditions for environmental hazards, and develop conclusions and protocol for remediation. You will be trained and certified to perform inspection services associated with regulated and unregulated hazards, such as asbestos, mold, lead, legionella, E. coli, and other environmental hazards. The position requires an annual physical and maintaining State certifications through classes and testing. Requirements Must obtain certification for asbestos, lead, mold and other environmental hazards as applicable upon hire. Must have a customer service/sales mentality. Must work well independently and complete tasks in a timely manner. Must have a reliable vehicle, insurance, valid driver's license, and an acceptable driving record. Must have strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing. Preferred experience writing out procedures and protocols and performing data entry (typing skills). Preferred experience using a PC, including Microsoft and Google Suite products. Preferred experience working remote from home and in the field. General knowledge of building components and construction materials preferred. Due to the nature of emergency response services, on-call and after-hours support is required on a rotating schedule. Qualifications Highschool diploma or equivalent is required. A bachelor's degree in environmental science preferred. Experience in the construction industry is a plus. Individual must pass an annual physical and pulmonary function test as required by OSHA. Working Conditions Significant driving time to and from inspection sites may be required. Driving required in all weather conditions. May work in attics and crawlspaces. Inspections may be required in dilapidated, damaged or unfinished structures. May work in hot and cold conditions. Rotating on-call on weekends and after-hours availability required.
