THE POSITION
The Oil and Gas industry is continually evolving, and the Department of Environmental Protection's Bureau of Oil and Gas is at the forefront of that progress. We are seeking an Oil and Gas Inspector to join our team and help safeguard Pennsylvania's environment. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will conduct inspections of gas storage reservoir wells and fields within the Southwest District to assess compliance with the Oil and Gas Act, the Conservation Law, the Coal and Gas Resource Coordination Law, and all applicable state regulations and rules, including but not limited to Chapters 78, 78a, 79, 91, 93, 102, and 105. You will also be responsible for reviewing records related to gas storage reservoirs and wells, such as plugging prognoses, alternative method requests, certificates of well plugging, well logs, verified statements, Mechanical Integrity Testing plans, and well diagrams and schematics. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Telework:
You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in New Stanton. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
Salary:
Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $59,345.00 (before taxes). REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Three years of technical experience in well design, drilling, completion, production, plugging, or underground storage operations in the oil or natural gas industry; or An associate's degree in Petroleum Technology or closely related field, and one year of technical experience in well design, drilling, completion, production, plugging, or underground storage operations in the oil or natural gas industry.
Special Requirement:
This position requires possession of a valid driver's license.
