Job Description
Overview The Senior Construction Inspector for the Treatment Construction team oversees, inspects, and ensures the quality of complex construction projects related to Water/Wastewater treatment facilities. This role involves supervising the construction work and ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, codes, and safety standards. The Senior Construction Inspector will collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, and engineers to ensure successful project completion. Responsibilities
- Conduct daily inspections of construction activities as Water/Wastewater treatment plants to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and standards
- Review and interpret project plans, drawings, and specifications, providing technical guidance and clarification to contractors and construction teams
- Monitor contractor performance to ensure adherence to schedule, quality standards, and budget constraints
- Prepare detailed inspection reports, including photographs, documentation of non-compliance issues, and recommendations for corrective actions
- Coordinate and participate in construction meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and potential solutions
- Ensure all work follows environmental regulations, permitting requirements, and safety protocols
- Verify that the materials used meet contract specifications and industry standards
- Assist in resolving field conflicts and discrepancies between design plans and on-site conditions
- Serve as a liaison between the construction team, engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations
- May be asked to perform other duties as assigned Position Type and Typical Hours of Work
- Exempt - Full-Time Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement
- In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services.
- High School Diploma/GED
- 7 (seven) years of relevant experience Licenses and Certifications Required
- A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire Employment Testing Employment is contingent on passing any post-offer pre-employment screening as listed below:

Yes Basis of Rating A recruitment consultant will evaluate all applications against the posted qualifications and may request additional information. The city may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview. Supplemental Information- Any position that lists a minimum qualification for education level and/or license/certification will require the applicant to provide proof of documentation if selected for hire into the position with the City of Corpus Christi.
