Brief Description The purpose of this position is to serve as an instrument monitor technician and inspector for the Brazos River Authority (BRA) This is accomplished by operating, monitoring, and maintaining a variety of dam instrumentation systems; assisting with the maintenance, efficiency, appearance, and operation of the dam; and performing site surveys and inspections.
Responsibilities include:
completing monthly dam inspections, monthly instrumentation readings and related reports; monitoring the dam and powerhouse; assisting with the Annual Inspection and 5-year Inspection of Morris Sheppard Dam; performing site surveys and inspections to ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
Additional responsibilities include:
inspecting boundary, construction, and topographic features; reviewing property issues; informing the public of the BRA's jurisdiction of rights and responsibilities; overseeing the construction processes; performing lease renewals and transfers; administering the Residential Water Use permit program; supervising the on-water facility (dock) permit process; acting as a designated representative for the BRA in all aspects of the OSSF Program including: on-site sewage facilities installation; permitting and inspecting septic systems and construction applications; reviewing surveys and assisting with mapping trails using GPS; interacting with other employees, contractors, and the general public; may carry out tasks associated with the Small Unmanned Aircraft System Operator (Drone) and any other duties as assigned. Job Requirements A minimum three years or equivalent combination of education Valid Texas Class C Driver's License and Good driving record OSSF-DR High School Diploma - Awarded for the completion of High School. STARTING SALARY RANGE
$24.13 to $30.77 per hour. This is a non-exempt position.
