Contract Company Overview We are supporting a contractor operating in the energy and industrial construction space, delivering projects across power generation, transmission, and industrial facilities. This role plays a key part in ensuring field execution aligns with engineering intent, regulatory requirements, and client expectations. Primary Function The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring construction activities, materials, and installations meet project specifications, engineering standards, and applicable codes. This is a field-driven role working alongside construction leadership to identify issues early, document findings clearly, and drive resolution through completion. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement a site-specific quality control plan aligned with project specifications and engineering standards Perform routine field inspections to verify compliance across all phases of construction Maintain accurate and traceable documentation of inspections, testing, and QC activities Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, specifications, and technical details Verify installation quality, including alignment, connections, and equipment placement Prepare and submit quality control reports to Construction Managers and clients outlining compliance, deviations, and corrective actions Understand and support execution of inspection test plans (ITPs) and coordinate with key stakeholders Interface with regulatory agencies and third-party inspectors during audits and compliance reviews Identify and recommend adjustments to installation or processes to meet engineering standards and applicable codes Ensure all testing equipment is properly calibrated and results meet required standards Identify, document, and track non-conformances through full resolution Provide photo documentation of incoming and installed equipment with proper QC documentation attached Other Information Field-based role with potential for extended hours based on project needs Occasional off-hours reporting may be required depending on project activityPPE and safety compliance required at all times Compensation $60-$68/hour depending on experience and project background Why This Role Matters This role is critical to protecting the project. The right person does not just document quality, they prevent downstream issues by identifying problems early and driving them to resolution.
Requirements:
Qualifications Experience in EPC, industrial construction, or energy infrastructure projects (power, T&D, oil and gas, or similar) Working knowledge of quality control processes, inspection test plans, and field inspection practices Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and engineering specifications Experience identifying and resolving non-conformance issues in the field Familiarity with applicable industry codes and standards Strong documentation and reporting skills Ability to operate effectively in a field environment and communicate with construction teams and leadership
