Our QA/QC Engineers support large commercial mechanical building construction projects throughout Central Virginia. On our team, you will provide engineering and field surveying support to project managers and field management, ensuring our work complies with design standards and contractual obligations. Provide technical engineering information to project managers and field management as required, ensuring work performed onsite meets design and quality standards. Inspect equipment / material and coordinate with vendors to ensure conformity with approved submittals and contract documents. Review manufacturer installation requirements to ensure proper installation of equipment / material on site. Coordinate with customers and subcontractors to maintain project compliance of all installed work and all associated documentation. Maintain QA/QC inspection logs as outlined in our QA/QC program manual. Develop and determine all standards to perform inspections and tests, oversee all testing methods, and maintain high-quality standards for all processes. Participate and review on-site installation means and methods, identify areas of improvement that can reduce unnecessary labor and material costs. Maintain knowledge of repetitive non-compliant practices and communicate known issues to the entire construction team, improving methods across all job sites. Assist the project team in tracking and responding to punch lists at project closeout. BIM model knowledge and compliance with all required clearances.
You should have:
Current or previous applicable project engineering or field QA/QC experience working for a commercial mechanical contractor. High School diploma / GED with relevant mechanical and/or plumbing field trade experience required. Associates degree, technical trade certification, or bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or related field of study preferred. Possess sharp analysis, problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Demonstrate skills, experience, and proficiency with technology, including knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office software. Demonstrate attention to detail and interest of ensuring accuracy of all construction activities from planning to execution. Ability to deal diplomatically with internal and external customers at various levels within an organization (i.e., owners, GC's, subcontractors, engineers, superintendents, drafters) Possess client management skills; ability to manage customer relationships, perceptions, and expectations.
