Job Description
Overview We are seeking qualified Construction Inspectors across multiple experience levels to support large and complex infrastructure and capital improvement projects. This position is responsible for inspecting and monitoring construction activities to ensure compliance with contract documents, approved submittals, requests for information (RFIs), applicable codes, design standards, safety requirements, and project specifications. The Construction Inspector will work closely with project management, construction management teams, contractors, engineers, and quality representatives to support successful project delivery. Depending on experience and qualifications, responsibilities may range from supporting field inspection activities to leading specialized inspection efforts and coordinating inspection priorities across multiple disciplines. Responsibilities Inspect on-site construction activities to verify conformance with contract documents, approved submittals, RFIs, applicable codes, and design standards. Monitor contractor work for compliance with project requirements, specifications, quality standards, and safety procedures. Review construction activities and identify non-conforming work, deficiencies, or potential issues requiring corrective action. Communicate field observations, discrepancies, and non-conforming work to project leadership and quality management personnel for resolution. Document inspection activities, findings, deficiencies, and corrective actions in inspection reports and project tracking systems. Coordinate inspection priorities and coverage with project and construction management representatives. Verify contractor adherence to approved plans, schedules, permits, and regulatory requirements. Participate in project meetings, field walks, and coordination activities as required. Support quality assurance and quality control efforts throughout all phases of construction. Maintain accurate records of inspections, daily activities, testing results, and project documentation. Promote safe work practices and support compliance with environmental, health, and safety requirements. Skills High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree, technical training, or coursework in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field preferred. Experience levels may range from early-career inspectors to senior inspection professionals with extensive field experience on large and complex infrastructure or construction projects. Strong understanding of construction practices, codes, standards, and inspection procedures. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and contract documents. Knowledge of construction safety requirements and quality management principles. Ability to document and communicate field observations accurately and effectively. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work collaboratively with contractors, project teams, and stakeholders in fast-paced construction environments. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic inspection/reporting systems. Experience may include but is not limited to: Civil/Structural Inspection, Building Inspection, Electrical Inspection, Mechanical Inspection, Utility Inspection, Roofing and Building Envelope Inspection, Safety and Security Oversight, or Quality Assurance/Quality Control Inspection.
Pay:
