Full Job Description Description:

The Crane Operator loads and unloads material using a mobile crane to designated locations while maintaining a safe and organized area. Identify and sort materials and feed the shredder, shredder conveyor line, or baler efficiently. 1. Unload, open and sort materials from inbound trucks 2. Open and sort bales of materials to be processed 3. Remove any nonconforming materials from the piles set to be processed 4. Unload inbound and load outbound materials in an efficient timeline 5. Perform daily preventative maintenance on equipment as required 6. Follow dress code and ensure proper PPE is worn at all times 7. Make decisions, solve problems, and handle high stress situations calmly and safely

Requirements:

Job Requirements/Skills 1. Knowledge of Ferrous and Non-Ferrous materials 2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 3. Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work efficiently Education/Experience 1. Basic math, reading, and writing skills 2. Heavy equipment, such as skid steer, front end loader, or crane, experience preferred Physical Requirements 1. Sit and stand for long periods of time 2. Ability to climb into mobile equipment 3. Exposure to physical operations in scrap recycling facilities, including walking/climbing in active industrial yards with uneven surfaces in inclement weather
