Job Description
Position Summary The Crane Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of company cranes to perform lifting, rigging, and transport tasks. This position requires an experienced operator who can handle a variety of job sites, including construction, recovery, and specialized lifts. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, and capable of working flexible hours, including occasional weekends. Key Responsibilities Operate hydraulic cranes to lift, move, and position loads safely and efficiently Perform pre-lift planning, including load calculations, rigging selection, and site assessment Execute a variety of lifts including HVAC units, steel, equipment, trusses, and recovery support Set up crane (outriggers, cribbing, leveling) according to job requirements Inspect crane and rigging equipment daily and report any maintenance needs Communicate effectively with ground personnel, customers, and dispatch Complete accurate job tickets, crane logs, and documentation Follow all OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards Maintain cleanliness and proper care of crane and equipment Assist with shop or field support work when not actively operating Schedule & Availability Requirements Must be available to work extended hours and weekends Must be able to respond to scheduled and emergency jobs with short notice Qualifications Proven experience operating hydraulic cranes (certification preferred) Valid CDL (Class A or B preferred) with acceptable driving record NCCCO Certification (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe) Strong knowledge of rigging practices and load charts Ability to read and interpret lift plans and job specifications Mechanical aptitude and understanding of equipment operation Must pass pre-employment drug screening Physical Requirements Ability to lift and handle rigging equipment (50+ lbs) Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions Capable of climbing, balancing, bending, and standing for extended periods Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly pay (or combination pay structure based on experience) Overtime opportunities On-call and specialized job incentives (per company policy) Competitive Health, dental, vision, and retirement benefits (eligibility-based) Uniforms provided Work Environment This role involves working on construction sites, commercial properties, roadways, and recovery scenes. Pay:
