Job Description
Unite Contracting is seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious NCCCO Crane Operator to join our construction and heavy equipment team. The successful hydraulic crane candidate must have Sheet Pile Driver experience and be NCCCO certified in Destrehan, LA. This role is essential for ensuring efficient project progress, maintaining safety standards, and supporting overall operational success. The ideal applicant will possess strong mechanical knowledge, extensive experience with sheet pile driving, and a commitment to precision and safety. Responsibilities Operate hydraulic cranes with precision to lift, move, and position sheet metal pilings on construction sites. Conduct thorough pre-operation inspections of the crane to ensure safety and functionality before each use. Coordinate with site supervisors, riggers, and team members to plan lifting operations and ensure proper rigging techniques are applied. Handle materials safely during loading, unloading, and transportation processes in compliance with safety regulations. Maintain detailed records of the crane equipment usage, inspections, and maintenance needs. Assist with shipping and receiving activities by loading or unloading materials using appropriate machinery. Follow all safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents or injuries during operations. Support construction activities by operating the hydraulic crane. Participate in ongoing training to stay current with industry standards, safety procedures, and equipment updates. Requirements Proven experience operating a crane, pile driving sheet piles. Strong mechanical knowledge related to cranes and maintenance. Demonstrated rigging skills for safe lifting and load -securing procedures. Knowledge of construction site safety standards and best practices. Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy loads and working in outdoor conditions. Prior experience with construction site operations or related fields is highly desirable.
