This is a great opportunity for an experienced heavy equipment operator who is looking to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Position Summary:

The Crane Operator is responsible for safely operating material handling equipment, including cranes equipped with magnets, grapples, or buckets, to move and sort scrap metal and other materials within the yard. This position plays a critical role in maintaining safe and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate cranes to move, sort, and load scrap materials throughout the yard Use attachments such as magnets, grapples, or buckets to handle materials Load trucks, trailers, and railcars safely and efficiently Perform daily equipment inspections to ensure safe operation Monitor load weights and crane capacity to prevent overloads Communicate with yard personnel using radios or hand signals Perform basic maintenance and report any equipment issues Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations Assist with general yard duties as needed

Qualifications:

Experience operating cranes, excavators, or similar heavy equipment required Scrap yard or recycling experience preferred but not required Strong focus on safety and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good communication skills

Physical and Work Requirements:

Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions Ability to operate equipment for extended periods Ability to safely climb in and out of equipment Must have adequate vision, coordination, and reaction time for safe equipment operation

Work Environment:

Outdoor scrap yard setting Fast-paced environment with constant equipment movement Exposure to noise, dust, and heavy machinery
