Job Description

Craftsmen Contractors is hiring a skilled and certified Hydraulic Rough Terrain Crane Operator for a commercial construction site in the Canton, Mississippi area. The project starts in early July. This is a full-time position for 3 - 4 months. You must be certified. The work schedule is for 5-10's and 1-8 (Monday through Saturday) working day shifts. Overtime hours every week. GR-800XL-1
80-ton capacity (72.6 metric tons) hydraulic rough terrain shuttle crane - Model Mitsubishi 6M60-TLA3B.
Pay rate:
$35 - $40/hour depending on experience. Weekly pay by direct deposit. No per diem is offered.
Job duties:
Responsible for operating a hydraulic rough terrain shuttle crane to lift, move, position, and reposition loads. Operate a crane under general supervision, but also work under little supervision. Perform pre-operation inspections on a daily basis to ensure equipment is functioning properly and safely. Follow all safety protocols and guidelines while operating the crane. Collaborate with site supervisors and other operators to coordinate lifting operations effectively. Be able to work at heights and in a high-noise environment. Sit for long periods, as well as the need to climb up to and operate the crane from the cabin. Maintain accurate logs of equipment usage and perform routine maintenance checks. Assist in digging and moving materials as needed to support construction activities. Lift, position, and place machinery, equipment, or other large objects at construction sites and industrial facilities. Place blocks and outriggers to prevent capsizing when lifting heavy loads. Coordinate with the ground operations team to ensure the safe movement of cargo according to plan. For safety purposes, help supervise other workers at the site when not operating the crane. Manage crane stability using the knowledge of tidal, wind, and other environmental factors.
Job requirements:
Will need to have a valid heavy equipment/crane certification. Mechanical knowledge of the design and use of friction/hydraulic cranes, as well as the ability to make minor repairs Excellent depth perception, hand-eye coordination, and a fast reaction time Ability to work in varying weather conditions and to adapt to changing operational needs. Familiarity with different types of cranes, including mobile and tower Undergo a pre-employment drug screen. 2 years minimum of Hydraulic Crane Operator experience working on a commercial construction site.
