Job Title:
Crane Operator Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced crane operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully operating cranes in an industrial setting and possess the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities Operate forklifts and overhead cranes to move steel in the yard of an industrial steel fabrication shop. Handle a variety of materials, including small fabricated metal components and large structural steel beams and columns. Ensure safe and efficient loading practices. Load and unload materials from trucks as well as operate trucks within the yard. Collaborate with team members to meet production and shipping deadlines. Maintain equipment and report any malfunctions promptly. Utilize an ERP system. Essential Skills 3+ years of experience operating cranes with a capacity of 5 tons or higher. Proficiency in overhead crane operation. Experience in an industrial environment working with raw materials like steel. Ability to work on feet and outdoors for the entire shift. Computer comprehension with ERP systems. Comfortable with constant movement and physical activities like climbing ladders and walking long distances. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with 20-40 ton overhead cranes is highly desirable. Strong attention to safety protocols. Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset. Work Environment Work in a state-of-the-art 180,000 sq ft steel fabrication facility, one of the largest in the Pacific Northwest. The facility is AISC certified for high-rise buildings, bridges, marine, and other structural steel projects. Shift hours are from 4:30 pm to 2:30 am, Monday through Thursday, with occasional overtime on Fridays and Saturdays. The role requires working outdoors and involves significant physical activity. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tigard, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
