In this vital role, you will expertly maneuver cranes and other heavy machinery to ensure safe, efficient, and precise movement of materials across various job sites. Your mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience will be key to supporting construction teams and logistics operations while maintaining the highest safety standards. Responsibilities Operate cranes, boom trucks, forklifts, backhoes, excavators, and other heavy equipment with precision on construction sites or warehouses. Rig loads securely using rigging techniques to ensure safe lifting and transportation of materials. Handle materials efficiently, including loading and unloading shipments in shipping & receiving areas or warehouse settings. Coordinate with team members to plan lifting sequences and ensure smooth workflow during construction or logistics operations. Conduct routine inspections of equipment before use, perform basic maintenance checks, and report any mechanical issues promptly. Follow all safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents, ensuring a secure working environment for yourself and others. Assist with general construction site tasks as needed, including material handling, site cleanup, and supporting other heavy equipment operations. Qualifications Proven experience operating cranes or similar heavy machinery such as forklifts, excavators, boom trucks, or backhoes. Strong mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation and maintenance. Ability to rig loads properly for safe lifting procedures. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) or equivalent certification preferred; experience with commercial driving is a plus. Construction site experience demonstrating familiarity with safety standards and site protocols. Skills in materials handling, shipping & receiving processes, and warehouse operations are highly desirable.
