Join us and be a part of a team that puts people first! We are seeking a skilled Crane Operator to join our team in a fast-paced metals recycling environment. In this role, you will operate a hydraulic crane to safely and efficiently move scrap metal throughout the yard. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and able to work independently to complete daily operational tasks. What We Offer PTO starting on your first day of employment Career growth and advancement opportunities Overtime opportunities available 401(k) with company match up to 3% Low-cost medical, dental, and vision insurance Company-paid life insurance Company-paid disability insurance Paid training and advancement opportunities Essential Duties & Responsibilities Operate a hydraulic crane to load and unload scrap metal materials, including bales, bins, boxes, crates, and other containers Load and unload materials from customer trailers, truck beds, bins, and other transport equipment Transfer materials safely and efficiently from one location to another within the yard Collect and manage any falling or displaced materials during transfer operations Maintain a clean and organized work environment by removing debris and potential hazards Follow all site safety procedures, operational guidelines, and company protocols Maintain accurate service logs and perform required equipment checks and maintenance documentation Perform additional duties as assigned to support yard operations Required Skills & Abilities OSHA or safety certification preferred (not required) Ability to work independently and as part of a team Familiarity with scrap metal materials and commodities is a plus Ability to perform all physical, mental, and environmental job functions Comfort working in all weather conditions including heat, cold, and rain Strong time management, multitasking, and problem-solving skills Effective verbal and written communication skills Education & Experience High School Diploma or GED required Minimum 2+ years of consecutive crane operating experience required Work Environment & Physical Requirements Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, wind) May be exposed to moving mechanical equipment and heavy industrial activity Noise levels may be high; hearing protection is required Requires prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking Frequent bending, kneeling, and physical movement required Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs Work may include confined spaces and other industrial conditions requiring PPE #LI-Onsite EMR USA Metal Recycling provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
