Crane Operator / Mobile Boom Truck Operator Argus Professional Services - 3.4 Madison, WI Job Details Full-time $30 - $90 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Qualifications CDL B Load securing rigging method Crane Certification Outdoor work Moving Adhering to traffic regulations CDL A Crane hoisting operations Machine operation safety procedures Boom truck Full Job Description Crane Operator / Mobile Boom Truck Operator - Madison, WI We're looking for an experienced, safety-first Crane Operator / Boom Truck Operator to support roofing projects across the Madison and southern Wisconsin area. This role is hands-on, active, and plays a key part in keeping job sites running smoothly by safely delivering and placing materials where crews need them. You'll spend your day operating a boom truck or truck-mounted crane, moving roofing materials like shingles, insulation, membrane systems, and sheet metal from ground level to rooftops. You'll work closely with field crews and foremen to coordinate safe lifts, manage deliveries, and keep materials flowing efficiently between warehouse and job sites. No two days are exactly the same, and weather conditions will vary—this is an outdoor, year-round role.
Pay:
$30-$90/hr depending on experience (DOE)
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm (day shift) What you'll do day-to-day Operate boom trucks and truck-mounted cranes for material delivery and rooftop placement Safely load, transport, and unload roofing materials to active job sites Perform pre-trip inspections and daily equipment checks Work with signal persons, foremen, and ground crews to complete lifts safely Secure loads properly and follow all crane/rigging safety procedures Support general yard, rigging, or jobsite logistics tasks when needed Maintain clean driving record and required CDL documentation What we're looking for (must-have experience) Prior experience operating boom trucks, knuckle booms, or mobile cranes Valid CDL Class B or Class A (preferred) Strong understanding of crane safety and rigging practices Comfortable working at heights and on active construction sites Reliable attendance and strong communication skills Nice to have NCCCO certification (or willingness to obtain) Background in roofing, flatbed hauling, or construction logistics Familiarity with material delivery to commercial job sites Physical expectations Ability to lift 50+ lbs as needed Comfortable working outdoors in all Wisconsin seasons Frequent climbing, bending, and physical activity throughout the day This is a steady, long-term opportunity for someone who enjoys skilled equipment operation, takes safety seriously, and wants consistent weekday hours with strong earning potential based on experience.
