Quarry Supervisor Position Summary The Quarry Driller is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of drilling equipment to produce blast holes in accordance with established quarry plans and safety standards. This role works closely with the Quarry Supervisor and designated Blaster to ensure drilling operations meet production goals while maintaining strict compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Promote and maintain a safe work environment through adherence to company safety policies, participation in safety training, and completion of routine safety inspections. Coordinate daily activities with the Quarry Supervisor and Blaster to ensure all drilling standards, patterns, and specifications are followed. Safely move and position drilling equipment within the quarry to designated drill locations. Operate drilling equipment to accurately drill blast holes according to established drill patterns and plans. Inspect, maintain, and service drilling equipment, including lubrication systems and fluid levels. Maintain and replace drill components such as bits, hammers, and steel tubes as required. Set up, adjust, and troubleshoot drilling machinery and related equipment. Complete daily drilling logs, reports, and documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Assist with the operation of other quarry equipment as directed by the Quarry Supervisor. Perform general labor duties as needed to support quarry operations. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous drilling or heavy equipment operation experience in a quarry, mining, or construction environment preferred. Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to perform equipment maintenance. Strong understanding of safety practices and procedures in an industrial environment. Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and as part of a team. Valid driver's license required. We have a Ingersol-Rand 370 Track Drill - Experience with this drill is a plus Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: Stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time. Use hands, arms, and fingers to operate machinery and controls. Communicate effectively, including talking and hearing. The employee is frequently required to: Climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Lift, carry, and/or move materials weighing up to 100 pounds. Work Environment Work is performed outdoors in a quarry environment with exposure to varying weather conditions, dust, noise, and heavy equipment. Must be able to work safely around moving machinery and blasting operations. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times. Employment Type Temporary, 6-8 week assignment (with potential for extension based on business needs).
Pay:
$25.00 - $35.00 per hour
