In this role, you will be responsible for operating specialized horizontal drilling equipment to install underground utilities with precision and safety. Your expertise will help ensure efficient project completion while adhering to safety standards and technical specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on challenging infrastructure projects, utilizing your heavy equipment operation skills and construction site experience to make a tangible impact. Duties Operate horizontal directional drilling machines to install underground cables, pipes, and conduits accurately beneath obstacles such as roads, buildings, or waterways Conduct pre-operation inspections of drilling equipment, including mechanical checks and safety assessments Coordinate with project managers and crew members to plan drilling paths and ensure alignment with project specifications Maintain detailed records of drilling activities, including depth, location, and any encountered obstacles or issues Monitor equipment performance during operation, making adjustments as needed for optimal results Follow all safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment on-site Experience Proven experience operating horizontal directional drills in a construction or utility installation environment Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) Hands-on experience working on construction sites with familiarity in excavation techniques and underground utility installation Knowledge of Vermeer equipment operations is highly desirable Ability to interpret technical drawings and plans for precise drilling alignment Prior experience with construction safety standards and procedures is essential Join our team to be part of innovative projects that shape communities!
