JDriller / Locator Operator Full-Time Underground Utilities In-House W2 Employee Betatech LLC is expanding our telecom construction crews and seeking experienced Driller/Locator Operators to support broadband installation projects across the region. This role plays a vital part in delivering high-speed internet to underserved communities. through FTTH Join a professional team using high-quality equipment, with year-round work and paid per diem for travel assignments. About the Role You will operate directional drilling rigs, locating systems, and support equipment for telecom infrastructure projects. Our crews utilize drilling equipment including Ditch Witch, Vermeer, and Universal rigs. Key Responsibilities Operate directional drilling rigs, locating equipment, mini-excavators, mud pumps, and mud-mixing systems Perform horizontal directional drilling (HDD) while adhering to strict safety standards Dig trenches/holes and assist with site preparation Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of drilling equipment Monitor bore paths and ensure accurate drill shots Collaborate with crew members to execute daily drilling plans Maintain full compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies Required Skills & Experience Minimum 2 years of directional drilling or locating experience (Required) Proficient operating small HDD rigs (25-ton and smaller) Strong mechanical skills for diagnosing and repairing equipment issues Experience with Telcom projects preferred (not required) Ability to work outdoors in active construction environments Strong communication skills and teamwork mindset Familiarity with OSHA and general construction safety standards License/Certification Valid Driver's License (Required) CDL preferred, but not required Why Join BetaTech?
