ABOUT RG TENNEY ELECTRIC RG
Tenney Electric, Inc. (RGTE) is a specialty electrical and underground infrastructure contractor based in Loganville, GA. Our Utility/HDD division performs horizontal directional drilling and underground utility installation for commercial, industrial, and federal airport clients across the Southeast. We are based out of metro Atlanta, with select projects requiring travel to airport job sites. RGTE promotes from within. If you want to learn the trade and grow into a foreman role, this is the right place to do it.
THE ROLE
The Directional Drill Hand works as part of an HDD crew, supporting the foreman and operator on horizontal directional drilling and underground utility installation. You'll learn the trade on the job — locating, drill support, pipe handling, and site work — while working under experienced leadership who will teach you the right way to do it.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Support the foreman and drill operator on day-to-day HDD operations Assist with utility locates, bore path setup, and equipment staging Handle pipe, fittings, and materials on site Follow all safety protocols and directions from the foreman without exception Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site Learn drill operation and crew leadership skills over time as you prove yourself Complete daily time sheets and basic job documentation accurately
REQUIREMENTS REQUIRED
Experience in directional drilling or underground utility work
REQUIRED
Strong commitment to safety and the ability to follow direction closely
REQUIRED
Valid driver's license
REQUIRED
Reliable, hardworking, and a good team player — you'll be working closely with the crew every day
REQUIRED
Willing to travel occasionally for airport project work

A CDL COMPENSATION
Base wage $25.00 per hour and up, based on experience. Per diem Paid on travel days for out-of-town airport job sites. Hotel covered separately by RGTE. Overtime 1.5× base rate for all hours over 40 per workweek. Advancement RGTE promotes from within. Strong performers have a clear path toward operator and foreman roles.
